If you follow me on Pinterest, you know I’m obsessed with a good food recipe. And this, my friends, is a really good homemade donut recipe.
This is going to help you live a more
blissful life.
Seriously.
Here's what you'll need for the donut portion:
Here's what you'll need for the donut portion:
Canned biscuits (preferably not the flakey kind - the texture is off
Frying pan
Vegetable oil (enough to fill your frying pan about a half inch)
tongs
paper towel on a plate or pan
Here's what you'll do:
- Heat oil in the frying pan over the stove for a few minutes on medium heat. (I heated it on high heat at first.. haha.. let's just say heat it on medium heat.)
- Cut biscuits four-ways into triangular shapes. (Or really any shape, I found this is the easiest but you could even shape them into actual donut shapes - whatever you want!)
- When one side is golden brown, flip it over using tongs
- When the other side is golden, remove it from the oil and place it on your paper plate or pan with a paper towel to absorb the excess oil.
Okay now that we’ve got that covered, I’m going to give you the most delicious glaze recipe ever. And here it is…
2 cups confectioners' sugar
1/3 cup butter
1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla
4 tablespoons hot water or as needed
- Microwave the ingredients in a microwaveable bowl (wow. obviously. sorry, I know you're smart enough to know that.) until it is almost liquidy.
- Dip (yes. DIP. Immerse. soak.) the donut into the glaze until it is completely covered.
- Indulg... I mean place all the donuts on a plate and share with your friends and family.
Let’s talk about how fantastic these are. No seriously, please try them so we can actually talk about it.
